Hindustan Unilever dropped 0.57% to Rs 276.85 at 12:35 IST on BSE, on reports the company’s advance tax payment declined 17.6% to Rs 140 crore in Q2 September 2010 over Q2 September 2009.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 112.71 points, or 0.79% at 19,459.67.
On BSE, 85,845 shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 2.28 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 281 and a low of Rs 276.40 so far during the day.
The company has an equity capital of Rs 221.25 crore. Face value per share is Rs 1.
Lower advance tax payment normally indicates lower profit for the period under review.
